Capitol Places Tapps Into New Apartment Venture
COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Capitol Places, one of Columbia’s most successful downtown real estate
development companies, is proud to announce a partnership with Main
Street Lofts for the marketing and management of
the 42 apartments in Columbia’s Tapps Building. The Tapps building is
located at 1644 Main Street in the City Center.
Capitol Places
will manage the process needed to convert the apartments into
condominiums in the fall of 2007. Meanwhile, new fitness centers
called The Factory at Tapps and The Firm have opened on the ground
floor of the Tapps building.
“The Tapps
building is a Columbia landmark. This is a great opportunity to
partner with a well respected real estate development and management
company for a successful transition to condominiums,” said John
O'Donnell, Partner of Main Street Lofts.
Madeline
Prioreschi, Marketing Director for Capitol Places went on to say that
the partnership further solidifies our dedication to make City Center
a vibrant part of Columbia. “We’re very excited to be working with
Main Street Lofts. The conversion of the Tapps building represented an
important step toward bringing more luxury apartments to this fast
growing neighborhood of Main Street. With a rooftop deck, loft design,
and historic feel, they will be wonderful condominiums."
“With Capitol
Places assuming the management and marketing of The Tapps building ,
we will offer current and future residents the higher standard of
living that we strive to maintain in all of our properties,” says
Chris Chessick, Director of Operations for Capitol Places. According
to Chessick, that higher standard of living means not just living in
an upscale residence, but also having entertainment, fine dining and
shopping all within walking distance of your doorstep as well as no
daily rush hour commutes.
Over
the next several years, Capitol Places will continue to build and
renovate in downtown Columbia with current plans to exceed 500
residencies. Currently, Capitol Places operates or has under
construction 168 unique, city-center apartments, 47 condominiums and
seventeen commercial spaces, each with its own distinct character and
style.
Capitol Places was formed in 1998 to develop, rent and manage
properties in downtown Columbia, South Carolina with a focus on
historic buildings. After the successful renovation of some of
Columbia’s most historic but vacant buildings, all on Main St.,
Capitol Places began developing and selling residential condominiums.
The main office is located at 1217A Hampton Street.
Capitol Places is a proud recipient of the Ainsley Hall Award from the
Historic Columbia Organization for outstanding corporate contribution
in the promotion of the history of Columbia.
